FF7.3F&F #7, with latest addition from Cascadia Artpost in Washington, USA – another Postcard halfway home!  Next stop Reed Altemus in Portland…  Tracking details.

Cascadia Artpost also provided a scan of the address side of the postcard, which is currently sporting an equally interesting collection of faux postmarks (alongside the real thing):

F&F Travelog #10.7 – the first ‘homer’!

FF10.7

F&F #10 is officially the first postcard of the current project to arrive home! Tracking details.

DKA Post from Darlene AltschulUpdate & return home courtesy of Darlene Altschul, proprieter of DKA Post, who slightly misunderstood the rules & completed the card with several artistamps of her own rather than adding one & passing on.  I forgive her, though, because she sent a very sweet letter alongside, including a pic of her very own manually operated antique Southworth perforator (of which I am not at all envious), as well as 2 sheets of beautifully owlish faux postage.  Thank you, Darlene!

F&F Travelog #3.3

FF3.3F&F 3 is halfway home!   Thanks to Fi Webster in Maryland, USA, for this latest update.  Next stop Menlo Park, California…  Tracking details.

donald evansI guess the mail art world is comparitively small – it’s a few years since Fiona & I were last in touch, so it was fun to see her name pop up with this update.  Fi’s generosity introduced me to the wonderful world of artistamp creator Donald Evans (prolific in the 60s and 70s – mwamba islandsee Banana Post stamps left – but sadly died in a fire in 1977); and his inspiration is clear in the personalised set of artistamps that Fi designed & made for me some time ago (shown right).  Thanks again, Fiona! 🙂

F&F Travelog #4.2

FF4.2F&F 4 has been updated by Beanie Mouse in Hove, UK – more pics in this blog post.  Next stop as yet unknown…  Tracking details.

Beanie is a bit of a celebrity and has previously been featured on the TangleCrafts blog demonstrating his own methods of making artistamps.  Follow the artistamps link on the Found-Art blog for lots more pics & info.

October Summary

This month:

  • 3 Postcards were sent out to October winners of the Lucky Draw (but not until November).  Please do enter the Lucky Draw!  There were only 3 entries in October so everybody won; therefore if you enter the draw, the odds of you winning & receiving a free project Postcard are fairly high! 😉
  • 2 new Travelogs have been posted (including story-so-far photos)
  • Due to October being a busy month for me, there has been less F&F activity than previously; but November has already seen an uplift – look out for these stats & more in next month’s summary!

If a Friends & Faux Postcard passes through your hands, please submit a tracking form to help us track where it has been & where it is going next!
